Devin Bone joined Paesano Akkashian as an associate attorney in August of 2015.  He quickly established himself as skilled trial attorney, litigating business and securities matters in state and federal court throughout the United States.  Devin accepted a partnership position with Paesano Akkashian in April of 2019 and continues to represents clients in a variety of complex litigation and transactional matters with a focus on securities, shareholder disputes, and corporate and business issues. He represents investment funds, investors, broker dealers, registered investment advisors, and other financial industry professionals in a variety of transactions and litigation matters.

Devin Bone joined Paesano Akkashian, PC as an associate attorney in August of 2015. He quickly established himself as a skilled trial attorney, litigating business and securities matters in state and federal court throughout Michigan and the United States. Devin accepted a partnership position in April of 2019.

Devin’s securities practice includes both litigation and transactional matters. On the litigation side, he represents individuals and corporations in shareholder disputes and investigations brought by the SEC or other state securities agencies. Devin also maintains a FINRA arbitration practice, representing customers and industry professionals in investment disputes, employment claims, or other industry matters. On the transactional side, Devin advises clients on the complexities associated the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and related state-level securities laws. His client base is broad, including publicly reporting companies, private fund managers, registered investment advisers, and start-ups. He services clients around the United States, from New York to Silicon Valley.

In addition to his securities practice, Devin maintains a general corporate practice advising individuals, businesses, and non-profit corporations in both litigation and transactional matters. He serves as outside general counsel to companies, providing guidance on various commercial issues, including contract disputes, employment matters, and regulatory compliance. Devin also regularly represents automotive suppliers in disputes involving down-stream suppliers, original equipment manufacturers, and competitors engaging in unfair trade practices.

Not one to shy away from nuanced areas of law, Devin’s legal practice extends to advising clients in complicated real estate disputes involving riparian rights, as well as administrative cases brought by state and federal agencies involving matters ranging from professional licensing disputes to marijuana enforcement. He is also experienced in assisting clients through the complicated disadvantaged business enterprise regulations associated with state and federal contracting.

Devin is regularly recognized by his peers and industry professionals for his exceptional work product and practice. He’s received honors including Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Up and Coming Lawyer,” Super Lawyers’ “Rising Star” in the area of Business and Corporate Law, and Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” designation. Lawyers of Distinction also recognized Devin for excellence in Securities Law.

Devin is active in legal education and takes pride in providing practical legal guidance to future attorneys entering the industry. He is an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Michigan State University College of Law, where he teaches courses focused on contract drafting and litigation practice. Devin is also an adjunct professor and a member of the ABA Paralegal Advisory Board at Oakland University.
